In the classroom, vision is key to an engaged and focused student. Almost 80% of a child's learning is through vision alone!
Even children who may have great eyesight can struggle to master the visual skills (tracking, focusing, eye coordination, and visual perception) needed for effective learning. In fact, children with vision-related problems are often misdiagnosed with disorders such as ADD or ADHD when in reality they have an undiagnosed vision problem.
Here at Holistic Vision, Dr. Robin works to educate parents and students that vision-related learning problems are not related to intelligence, but rather are developmental and functional in nature. That means that vision skills were not properly learned and are amenable to improvement through various therapies. These therapies often have positive effects on the student's reading, spelling, and writing which are especially necessary for achievement in the modern classroom.
Treatments for vision-related learning issues include:
Lenses prescribed for academic focus
Vision Therapy to improve visual skills - tracking, eye teaming, and focus & vision perception
